AC/DC Shoots Swiss Rumor Down in Flames
In a relatively rare public announcement from any official source inside the AC/DC camp, their official website has posted this statement on their front page regarding the highly publicized rumor of a special concert to be held in Switzerland on January 25th, 2008.
"Contrary to rumors floating around the internet, AC/DC will not be playing at a special club performance in Switzerland in late January."
Well, it's a good thing they've cleared that up as I had almost sold off all my Grandmother's furniture for a plane ticket and a handgun to insure I would make the show. What are the Swiss guns laws like anyway? I guess I should have found that out before kicking Granny out on the street first, eh?
I do see an out here, though, because AC/DC didn't rule out the possibility of the show happening in February or any other months this coming year. Hmm...
How is Angus' knee anyway? I'm worried about that lad. It seems like he's always having something bad happen to him when he's on vacation. Like that time Angus was dead and then he miraculously sprang back to life only to deny he'd ever been dead in the first place.
That boy has some big balls to pull a stunt like that on his adoring public.

Leave it to veteran rock journalist, Tim Cashmere, to set the record straight on these wild rumors about a new AC/DC album. Here's the real scoop from Undercover Music News.
AC/DC Are Not In The Studio

"AC/DC are not in the studio, they are not recording with Mutt Lange and they don't have a title for an album which has been widely reported to be called 'Strap It On'.
Following stories that the band have returned to the studio for their first album since 2000's 'Stiff Upper Lip', Albert Records' Danny Keenan has told Undercover they're hopeful, but it's not the case.
"If you ask me if they're in the studio today, I can tell you they're not. If you ask me if they were in the studio last week, I can tell you they're not. If you ask me if they're in the studio next week, I can tell you they're not.
"We're pretty hopeful, but unfortunately there is no word of an album at this stage."
The band's last album was 'Stiff Upper Lip' in 2000, and after the accompanying world tour they've remained fairly quiet.
Despite a now 8 year absence from a new recording, the band had the number 4 DVD in Australia last year with 'Plug Me In'."
So there you have it, AccaDacca fans. Calm down for the moment and let's see what develops about this supposed gig in Switzerland, too. (Hint: Not gonna happen!)
By the way, this isn't the first time Mr. Cashmere has helpfully squashed the Strap It On rumors as evidenced by this story from December 21, 2006.

AC/DC: Ready To Return to Rock and Roll?
A Spanish website dedicated to Heavy Metal is reporting that their sources in New York have revealed that AC/DC is eminently poised to return to the music scene. This rumor has not been confirmed by the band's record company, however.
According to Rafabasa.com, a serious knee problem of Angus Young's has been hindering the bands return to the stage. However, that problem has now been resolved and the group may begin playing what are described as "mini-shows" sometime in late January.
Apparently, those performances will celebrate Malcolm Young's recent 55th birthday and, perhaps, allow AC/DC to debut some of their new material.
Also, according to this rumor, the band has already finished mixing a new album with the assistance of famed producer, "Mutt" Lange. A new AC/DC world tour appears to be the next logical step, says Rafabasa.
While millions of AC/DC fans are no doubt clamoring for the band to return to the stage it should be noted that, at last report, AC/DC hadn't even entered the recording studio but that the Young brothers were privately working on songs.
Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams have kept themselves busy, in the meantime, performing charity shows for the John Entwistle Foundation.
