Well, lots of stories to get to today so let's get it on, as Mills Lane would say...

For starters, Bon Scott fans will definitely want to check out the latest post by Lucas over at the Bon Scott Blog. It's all about Rennie Ellis's photographic work with the AC/DC in the 70's. You'll find some amazing shots there, including the one posted above.


Fans of Brian Johnson will not want to miss this article from the Herald Tribune about where the elite meet in Sarasota, FL. We don't get to hear much about Brian very often, unfortunately, so this is a real treat if you ask me.

Next on the agenda is Blog Critic Magazine's latest review of the No Bull Director's Cut DVD. If you haven't bought the reissued package yet, you may want to read their opinion on it before you plunk down your hard earned cash.

Of course, with all the excitement about AC/DC's upcoming tour, there have been several stories published lately about how ticket sales have been going so far. Two of the best pieces were by Ticket News.

In their first article, it's revealed that AC/DC was the top selling event in the United States for the week ending 9/21/08. That's a pretty big achievement for the boys considering all the other entertainers on the road this fall, not to mention all the regularly huge sellers like NFL Football games and the other seasonal sports here in the U.S.

Their other piece worth a read is a rehash of all the latest concert dates that have been added for the Black Ice tour plus the details on which arenas were sold out through the AC/DC Fan Club.

By the way, if you were lucky enough to get tickets to see the band this Fall, you might want to celebrate by wearing your favorite AC/DC T-shirts for the next month like the guy at Our Quirky Life has pledged to do. Now that's a dedicated fan!

AC/DC Completes Recording Sessions

Video of a few lighthearted moments during AC/DC's 1999 recording sessions in Vancouver for the "Stiff Upper Lip" album.

In a radio interview earlier today on Washington's DC101 rock station, the word from Brian Johnson came down that AC/DC has, in fact, completed their Vancouver recording sessions and the album is now in the mixing stage.

According to Brian, Angus and Malcolm Young have remained in Canada to mix the disc with engineer Mike Fraser and producer Brendan O'Brien. Brian, apparently, has gone back to his home in Sarasota, Florida.

Next, Brian says, the artwork must be done, promotional activities geared up for the new CD, and preparations made for the new tour.

According to a BW&BK source, Aussie hard rock legends AC/DC landed in Vancouver, BC last night (March 1st) to commence work on their anxiously-awaited new album. The band's last album, 2000's Stiff Upper Lip, was recorded at The Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, BC with George Young (Angus and Malcolm Young's older brother) and engineered/mixed by Mike Fraser (METALLICA, AEROSMITH, VAN HALEN) - perhaps the team set to work on the band's new material?

Is AC/DC poised to return to the studio, eight years after the band made its last studio album?

An insider from Albert Music, AC/DC's long-time Australian record company, has revealed there is plenty of excitement building about a possible new album from the band.

"We're very hopeful," he said, "but at this stage there's nothing official."

Because of their immense fan base all over the globe, any speculation about Accadacca making new music sends fans into a frenzy.

But AC/DC's New York management is yet to confirm rumours that the band will soon begin recording another album in the US. "They work on their own time frame," said the Sydney source.

"When they make a record, it's because they want to."

The band itself is now strikingly international, with members scattered across the globe. Malcolm and Angus Young divide their time between Britain and Australia (with Angus also spending time in the Netherlands because he has a Dutch wife). Singer Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams are based in the US, while drummer Phil Rudd lives in New Zealand.

"They can all get together pretty quickly though," the source said.

Because AC/DC are renowned as one of the most incredible live acts in the world, any possible album would probably be followed by a lengthy international tour.

Sony Norway Posts Possible AC/DC Album News

In a small blurb on Sony BMG's Norwegian website, AC/DC is said to have a coming publication in 2008. What that exactly means is anybody's guess? You can read it for yourself here through the Google translation machine, btw.

My questions is can we really trust any Norwegian after that whole episode in '82 when they let loose that alien shape shifter out of that space ship in the Antarctic? Yep, those crazy Swedes almost fucked all of mankind!

Thank God Snake Plissken was hiding out near there at the time and he was able to kick that Thing's booty or we'd all be speaking outer space jibberish right about now.

Oh well, hopefully this news is a real indication that AC/DC will have a new album out in 2008. In the meantime, I think I'll put on "If You Want Blood, You've Got It" and kick back with a cold one.

AC/DC Are Not In The Studio

"AC/DC are not in the studio, they are not recording with Mutt Lange and they don't have a title for an album which has been widely reported to be called 'Strap It On'.

Following stories that the band have returned to the studio for their first album since 2000's 'Stiff Upper Lip', Albert Records' Danny Keenan has told Undercover they're hopeful, but it's not the case.

"If you ask me if they're in the studio today, I can tell you they're not. If you ask me if they were in the studio last week, I can tell you they're not. If you ask me if they're in the studio next week, I can tell you they're not.

"We're pretty hopeful, but unfortunately there is no word of an album at this stage."

The band's last album was 'Stiff Upper Lip' in 2000, and after the accompanying world tour they've remained fairly quiet.

Despite a now 8 year absence from a new recording, the band had the number 4 DVD in Australia last year with 'Plug Me In'."



So there you have it, AccaDacca fans. Calm down for the moment and let's see what develops about this supposed gig in Switzerland, too. (Hint: Not gonna happen!)

By the way, this isn't the first time Mr. Cashmere has helpfully squashed the Strap It On rumors as evidenced by this story from December 21, 2006.

Blabbermouth has posted that AC/DC will reportedly play a "special "secret" club gig on January 25 at Glashaus in Reinach, Switzerland. Only 400 tickets are apparently available for the concert, which is part of a short mini-tour of small venues the band is planning on undertaking at the end of the month."

Additionally, Rafabasa.com is now reporting that the new album will be out on April 23, 2008 and will be called Strap It On. Furthermore, from what I can tell, they're saying it will be released by Atlantic Records.

As many diehard fans know the title "Strap It On" has been an old practical joke around various AC/DC forums for several years now.

This is starting to smell mighty fishy to me. lol

Oh well, who knows? Let the fun begin...

AC/DC: Ready To Return to Rock and Roll?

A Spanish website dedicated to Heavy Metal is reporting that their sources in New York have revealed that AC/DC is eminently poised to return to the music scene. This rumor has not been confirmed by the band's record company, however.

According to Rafabasa.com, a serious knee problem of Angus Young's has been hindering the bands return to the stage. However, that problem has now been resolved and the group may begin playing what are described as "mini-shows" sometime in late January.

Apparently, those performances will celebrate Malcolm Young's recent 55th birthday and, perhaps, allow AC/DC to debut some of their new material.

Also, according to this rumor, the band has already finished mixing a new album with the assistance of famed producer, "Mutt" Lange. A new AC/DC world tour appears to be the next logical step, says Rafabasa.

While millions of AC/DC fans are no doubt clamoring for the band to return to the stage it should be noted that, at last report, AC/DC hadn't even entered the recording studio but that the Young brothers were privately working on songs.

Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams have kept themselves busy, in the meantime, performing charity shows for the John Entwistle Foundation.
