AC/DC News: vancouver

As most of you probably know, Brian Johnson's been talking with various radio stations across the country as part of the promotion work he's doing for "Totally Baked."

Unfortunately, for AC/DC fans, most of the interviews have been a bit too focused on the movie instead of what we all want to hear about - AC/DC and their new recordings.

However, yesterday's pit stop on Philadelphia's 102.9 WMGK with John DeBella proved to be much better than usual chat as the disc jockeys actually devoted more than half of the interview to the subject of AC/DC.

Despite being a bit 'raggy at the edges', Brian was in fine form and shared some good stories. Check it out for yourself by listening here.

AC/DC Completes Recording Sessions

In a radio interview earlier today on Washington's DC101 rock station, the word from Brian Johnson came down that AC/DC has, in fact, completed their Vancouver recording sessions and the album is now in the mixing stage.

According to Brian, Angus and Malcolm Young have remained in Canada to mix the disc with engineer Mike Fraser and producer Brendan O'Brien. Brian, apparently, has gone back to his home in Sarasota, Florida.

Next, Brian says, the artwork must be done, promotional activities geared up for the new CD, and preparations made for the new tour.

Australian hard rockers AC/DC are reportedly in Vancouver to record their first new album in nearly a decade.

The website metalunderground.com is reporting the band is recording at the Warehouse Studios in Gastown. No official sources have confirmed it: The Warehouse has a policy of not saying who is recording there, and no one at AC/DC management in New York was available for comment Monday afternoon. But a blogger named Kathleen on metalunderground.com wrote that she "just saw them dining at Yew Restaurant in the Four Seasons on W. Georgia!"

This wouldn't be the first time AC/DC recorded in Vancouver. They came to town in 1990 to record The Razor's Edge at Little Mountain Sound with the late Bruce Fairbairn, mixed a live album from their 1990-91 world at the same studio, then recorded their Stiff Upper Lip album at the Warehouse in 2000.
